At least 7 people have been killed and dozens injured after a train derailed in the southern suburbs of Paris, the country’s Interior Minister said. French media reported 370 passengers were on train, some of them stuck in the overturned train carriages.
“The death toll is evolving constantly at this point and unfortunately it will probably rise,” Interior Minister Manuel Valls said. “At this stage there are seven people dead, several dozen wounded and some of them are serious.”
The accident happened at a railway station in the community of Bretigny-sur-Orge.
