BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Birmingham City Council‘s Public Safety Committee will hold a public hearing today, Feb. 15, to discuss a proposal for a city smoking ban.
Attendees who wish to voice their opinions on the ban that would outlaw smoking in enclosed public places will be given three minutes to share their thoughts with the council.
The ban would broaden the current rules, including regulating smoking outdoors within 30 feet of a building entrance.
The hearing will begin at 2 p.m. in the council chambers.
