Blount County Farmer’s Coop fire deemed accidental

ONEONTA, Ala. —

After a fire destroyed the 4,500 square-foot storage building at the Blount County Farmer’s Cooperative last week, the State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that the blaze was an accident.

An investigation into the matter by the Alabama State Fire marshal’s Office and the Oneonta Fire Department concluded that the fire resulted from machinery being parked too close to combustible materials.
