Blount County sheriff’s deputy under investigation after sexual encounter with Guntersville woman

GUNTERSVILLE, Alabama – A Blount County sheriff’s deputy is under investigation and on leave from his job for an incident involving a woman in Guntersville over the weekend.

The deputy has not been named because he has not been charged with any crime in connection with the incident. He resigned as an Alabama State Trooper in 2006 pending disciplinary action by the Alabama Department of Public Safety, said trooper spokesman Sgt. Steve Jarrett.
