Government Checkpoints Could Be Coming To Talladega In Wake Of Boston Bombing

MONTGOMERY, Alabama — The Alabama Department of Homeland Security plans to assess whether more safeguards should be in place at events that attract large crowds after Monday’s bombings at the Boston Marathon.

Leah Garner, public information officer for DHS, said the department would take a closer look at whether more security is needed at Talladega Superspeedway. The next big race weekend at the track will be next month, with the Aaron’s 499 on May 5.
